Cookie & Local-Storage Policy
Petteia — The Mother of Chess
1. What this covers
This policy explains the small pieces of data Petteia stores in your browser or device using cookies and similar technologies (such as local storage).
2. What we use, and why
Petteia deliberately keeps this minimal. We use only what the game needs to function:
- Login session token (essential) — keeps you signed in securely between pages and visits.
- Game preferences (functional) — remembers settings like piece style and board options.
- Onboarding flags (functional) — remembers that you've seen first-time tips or the tutorial.
We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
3. Managing storage
You can clear cookies and local storage through your browser or device settings. Essential items are required for login and gameplay, so blocking them may stop the game working. Signing out also clears your session token.
4. Changes
If we change what we store, we will update this policy and its "Last updated" date.
